J. Brough Schamp specializes in architectural, location, environmental portraiture, and aerial photography. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Photography from the University of Michigan, he started his own business in 1980. 

Brough's style is characterized by strong graphic composition, light and color.

Clients include: 

architectural firms,

engineering firms,

landscape design firms,

university and schools,

hospitals and other health care companies,

real estate developers,

restaurant and other hospitality groups,

government agencies. 

While he is active in current design projects, Brough maintains a longstanding interest in regional architectural heritage. He served six years on the board of directors of the Federal Hill and Fells Point Preservation Society. He has recorded many historic structures for the Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS) and the Maryland Historical Trust (MHT).

 Brough is a member of the American Society of Media Photographers, and is past president of the local chapter. A recipient of the President’s Award for Craftsman of the Year from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Baltimore chapter (2008), he is an affiliate member. He is a member of Baltimore Architectural Foundation, Baltimore Heritage, Preservation Maryland, and National Trust for Historic Preservation.
